Prof. Dr.-Ing. Florin Dumitru Moldoveanu, aged 64, received the B.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Transilvania University of Brasov, in 1975 and 1998, respectively. He is currently Professor as part of the Department of Automatic Control and Information Technology, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Transilvania University of Brasov. The most important professional achievements include: author or co-author of 13 books and book chapters, main author or co-author of 173 scientific papers in scientific journals and conference proceedings, member in 18 national and international research projects, PhD coordinator in Control Engineering. Currently he is the coordinator of the bachelor study program "Automation and Applied Informatics" and head of the Systems for Process Control research department of the CDI Institute: PRO-DD High Tech Products for Sustainable Development. He is the Head of the Brasov branch of the Romanian Society for Automatic Control and Applied Informatics (SRAIT).
